Trendsetter of the Week: Toni Bravo

Let's Roll Baby

You are looking at a roller-skating queen, Toni Bravo. The Long Beach native has quickly risen to an icon to many skaters. I mean look at her smile how can you not be memorized? If you have ever met Toni you know how she has this personality like no other. I have been friends with her since first grade and not surprised at all of the people she is knows which is a STAR. (Like seriously her last name is fu*king Bravo)

When she was younger her parents would bring her and her twin sister, Licia to the skating rinks and that's what sparked her love for skating. Her parents showed her the rinks and inspired her and know she is inspiring so many others. She posts regularly on her TikTok and Skating Instagram posting videos, answering questions, and always giving tips.

Skating is for everybody and I hope that is something everyone knows

It is amazing to see a young beautiful black woman become such an inspiration. She has brought awareness to the skating community and how it started in the black community. If she isn't spreading tips and love to another skater she is bringing awareness to issues going on in the world. This one of the many things I love about Toni, she uses her platform to not just talk about skating but also important matters in the world. She recently partnered with Custom Ink and came out with a shirt design for a fundraiser. 25% off the proceeds were donated to Black Girl Smile, an organization that focuses on the well-being and mental health of Black girls.

Skating has allowed me to to meet and be influenced by many beautiful people in the community

When I first bought my skates at the beginning of quarantine Toni was the first person I went to for advice. She motivated me and encouraged me to appreciate all my falls and trips I might have when I first put the skates on. She has inspired me and so many others.

Skating has enhanced my surroundings and my body
